Kristyn Wong-Tam nominated to be the Ontario NDP candidate for Toronto Centre

TORONTO - Hundreds of New Democrats gathered to nominate incumbent Kristyn Wong-Tam to carry the NDP banner in Toronto Centre for the next provincial election.

“We’ve built an incredible movement here in Toronto Centre,” said Wong-Tam. “The people of Toronto Centre know that we can’t afford four more years of the mess that Ford has created in our communities. From a sharp rise in homelessness, to dwindling supply of affordable housing, to crumbling schools, to closed emergency rooms, to lack of addiction and mental health supports - our communities have faced the very real consequences of having a government that does not care about them. Together, we will build a campaign that not only kicks Ford out, but brings in a government, an NDP government, that gives a damn about the people.”

“The fight and passion that Kristyn brings to Queen’s Park for the people of Toronto Centre is nothing short of remarkable,” said Marit Stiles, Ontario NDP leader. “They have been an effective voice in our city for decades, fighting tirelessly to promote human rights, support local residents and small businesses. I can’t wait to join them to keep building this momentum that will help us deliver the future that our province deserves.”
