Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP are on your side with family doctors for all
SAULT STE. MARIE – Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles announced her Family Health Guarantee to ensure that every Ontarian has access to a family doctor.
“After seven years of Doug Ford, 2.5 million people have no family doctor and can’t get one. Adding to the failures of the Liberals who invented hallway healthcare, Ford has made it harder than ever for families to see a doctor and get the care they need. Every day this crisis deepens. It’s time to do something about it.” said Stiles.
“As Premier, I will connect every single Ontarian with a family doctor.”
Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP will:
- Recruit and support 3,500 new doctors.
- Expand healthcare in Northern Ontario by hiring 350 doctors, including 200 family physicians and 150 specialists. We’ll establish a Northern Command Centre to manage capacity across the North.
- Cut red tape so doctors spend more time with patients, not paperwork.
- Fast-track solutions in the first 100 days—more family health teams, shorter specialist wait times, and flexible care options.
- Clear the path for 13,000 internationally trained doctors ready to serve Ontarians and we’ll increase residency spots province-wide.
Ontarians deserve a government that will fix public healthcare and deliver real solutions. The Ontario NDP will invest $4.05 billion over four years to hire more doctors.
