NDP wishes all those celebrating, Ramadan Mubarak

QUEEN’S PARK – NDP Deputy Leader and MPP for Scarborough-Southwest, Doly Begum, released the following statement to mark the start of Ramadan:

“Today Muslims across Ontario, Canada, and around the world will begin observing the month of Ramadan. This is a very special time for the Muslim community - a time of self-reflection, practicing patience, and connecting with friends, family and loved ones.

Over the course of this month, Muslims will be fasting from sunrise to sunset. After abstaining from all food and water, families and loved ones will come together in the evenings for Iftar - a time to break their fast together and celebrate.

During this spiritual month, I am wishing all those observing happiness, gratitude, and peace as you spend this valuable time with your loved ones.
